Gear measuring center Klingelnberg ZPK 260

This fully automatic CNC controlled gear measuring center has a work piece diameter range up to 400 mm. The measuring center is suitable for testing spur and helical gears as well as hobs, shaper- and shaving cutters, worms and worm gears, bevel gears and general deviations in dimension, form and location of rotation symmetrical work pieces, curve and camshaft measurements and rotors.

Preparatory works for carrying out a measurement are extremely simple on this machine concept.
After switching on the measuring machine, the reference point is automatically accepted by individual measuring axes. Once the evaluating computer has read the program and data into the machine control, the measuring center is ready for use.
Where a new, a yet unknown work piece is to be tested, a measuring program must be provided prior to the automatic measuring cycle.

For repeat measurements of a work piece, activation of a stored measuring program by input of a work piece number is adequate.

We utilize our Klingelnberg CNC Gear checking machine to ensure perfect results every time when setting our gear grinding machinery and to give evidence of what is acheived by way of certified graphs.

Our graphs are tracable to NAMAS standards, so you are assured that if you want a certain specification of gear accuracy and our graph says it meets the criteria, then it is what it says it is.

Advanced Gear Cutting Technology

In our Swiss precision clean room we have two of our most advanced machines. This room is temperature controlled at 20 Degrees C.

Our Studer S151 grinding machine is capable of grinding large and complex workpieces to sub micron tolerances.
It is equipped with rotary dressing to enable the use of CBN grinding wheels.

We also have in this room our Charmilles robofill 440CC wire erosion machine.
This machine is 5 axis and can machine any 2D shape.
The wire machine cuts to sub micron accuracy.
This machine is connected to the internet so we can control it from remote locations.
It even phones us to tell us that the product is ready!

Gear Manufacture

The materials that are used for gear manufacturing depend massively on the conditions that the gears will be operating under, conditions like wear and noise etc. Gear manufacturers use metallic or non-metallic materials.

The Metallic materials used in gear manufacture are normally available in cast iron, steel and bronze. Steel is used when there is a need for a high strength design. But cast iron is mainly used because of its good wearing properties, excellent machineability and the ease that complicated shapes can be created due to the casting method. Castings are created by pouring molten metal into a mould and once the metal as cooled it takes the shape of the mould.

The non metallic, materials used are generally wood, rawhide, compressed paper and synthetic resins like nylon. These types of materials are generally used when there is a need for the reduction in noise from the gears.

Since not all transmission problems can be solved with steel or cast iron gears, we provide a comprehensive service in alternative materials:

These have become firmly established for many applications where exceptionally low noises at high speed, dry running, or safety and wear resistant is required.

A right hand helical gear or right hand worm is one in which the teeth twist clockwise as they recede from an observer looking along the axis. The designations, right hand and left hand, are the same as in the long established practice for screw threads, both external and internal. Two external helical gears operating on parallel axes must be of opposite hand. An internal helical gear and its pinion must be of the same hand.

A left hand helical gear or left hand worm is one in which the teeth twist counterclockwise as they recede from an observer looking along the axis.
